The US is considering reviewing the UKâs claim to the Falkland Islands as a punishment for the countryâs failure to support its war in Iran, according to a report.
In an internal Pentagon email, a US official floated the idea of reassessing Washingtonâs diplomatic support for European "imperial possessions," such as the Falklands.
The email also suggested suspending Spain from Nato - after its loud criticism of the war - and barring âdifficultâ countries from prestigious positions in the military alliance.
It comes after the US military announced that a third aircraft carrier, the USS George HW Bush, has entered the Middle East as Washington continues its efforts to pressure Tehran into making a peace deal on its terms.
Trump âsaid Tehran might have loaded up their weaponry "a little bit" during its ceasefire with Washington, but â that the US military could knock that out in about one day.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has announced that the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire has been extended by three weeks.
âWe had a great meeting with very high officials of Lebanon and very high officials of Israelâ, the US president said from the Oval Office on Thursday.
